B. Stuffle 1977 Journal Finca Chiblac, Dept. Huehuetenango. 5 July. Finca it was raining, i've just couldn't see riding all day in our condition- it was about noon at the finca. Instead, we crashed out and read most of the afternoon. The 5th, we awoke at 5AM, packed, i hit the road by 6:30. Arrived at 10:30 at Concepcion, and ate breakfast. Left by 11- soon out of town, a bus came by, which Paul took with the live animals to Barillas. We did this to insure against overheating them- but it rained the entire time. Still, better safe than sorry. I rode both animals into Barillas, arriving a few minutes before 1AM. I ate then we met and went to Bill Keith's place to try for more B. molieri. Paul got a small one, i I got 2 Bubo. valliceps (?) & i small Ninia sebae. We spent the rest of the day prowling, writing, etc. We just paid our bill at the hotel- I think 6 nights, plus laundry- ran 15$- not too bad- about a buck/night/person. We will now pack & hit the road early tomorrow. Oh yes- on the ride out, we found a dead Drymibus margaritiferus on the road. Huehuetenango, Dept. Huehuetenango. 6 July.
