On the 3rd we decided to put out the word to the local kids that we would pay for animals (5 cents per) & rest up, since we were both really beat. Unfortunately, we didn't get much - a few Anoles, some leptodactylids, & one big Smilisca (toft), around 5 PM, we rode up to the coffee shed by the type locality to night walk - the plan was to sleep there, work that day & night again, then leave.
It rained from ~4-7PM, then cleared up - a beautiful, clear night, w almost full moon. The field has been cleared a lot, which made walking easy. Paul got a fine adult "jumper", & we both caught leptodactylids - also I got an Eumecces under bank. We headed down & slept in the open shed - a near-sleepless night due to intense gnat activity.
