B.Shelley 1977 Journal Santa Cruz Barillas, Huehuetenango. 6 June We checked out the market. They have some really superb hand embroidered Indian clothing that all of the people wear there. They are essentially ponchos & all the women were then supposedly it takes 2 years to make one. I got a large one for $10, but a smaller one for 6. We then came straight to Barillas Barillas, and are staying at hospedaje Terraza, a fine place. This is a locality for Bolitoglossa muelleri, and as we came into town it started to pour. This is the first big rain of the season, so we figured it might be hot. We night walked both in town and out on road sets on the main road with no success. Paul got a Winig & I heard some Centrolenids calling by the river, but that was all. Come home & went to bed. 7 June. Barillas, Huehuetenango Dept. Today we tried to drive to Finca Chiblac w/o success. We left at 8 AM, drove the road to Concepcion where the road forks. One side to Ixlac, the other to Chiblac. The Chiblac rd. is very rocky & steep, & after about 2 miles we stopped part way down the big grade to
