B. Shaffer 1972 Jarrod Atlixco, Puebla, Mexico to Ixcoy, Huehuetenango, Guatemala. 22-24 Jun. in the livestock - otherwise nothing. We drove to San Juan Ixcoy, & are staying at the [illegible] hospedaje in town - it's really neat. 25 June San Juan Ixcoy, Dept. Huehuetenango, Guat. We worked out of Ixcoy today back toward Huehuetanago, basically hitting 3 spots. First, we worked the type locality for Chiroptus tridion cuquematures - a patch of wet pine & oak woodland near Capztin. (see catalogue). The area has been cut; it's easy to walk in, with many good stumps & logs around. The Chirons are primarily under bank - both oak & pine. I had the best luck under bank in pine stumps - occasionally 3 in 1 stump. Also, we found a bunch of B. rostrata, under banks & under cave objects. We stayed about 1 1/2-2 hours, then left around 11:30 AM. On up the road a km or so is the B. rostrata - P. rex locality, where we wanted a rostrata sample for Lynn Howck. The area has a nice creek with lots of felled logs & stumps around it. We collected under objects & banks, getting more rostrata
