B. Shiffus 1976 Journal. Berkeley to Atlisco, Puebla, Mexico. 16-21 June. Amboystone. Tuesday morning Paul felt bad, but we took off anyway. I drove to Rio Frio (out Mex. Hwy. 190 to the Mexico-Puebla border) & looked - found no Amblystoma under stuff or in the river or ponds. I did get 2 salamanders (P. leprosa, I think) on Euneees at one spot ~ 2 miles W. of Rio Frio, & a series of Hyla (maybe eximia - picta group) from just east of town near the river. Also got a Thamnophis there. By this time Paul had developed a real splitting migraine & I wasn't feeling so hot myself, so we split toward Oaxaca- took 190 through Puebla city to the town of Atlisco, where we are now. It is a nice town with a bad hotel - "Hotel Roma" at 3.50* /person - but your own bed. Tomorrow its off to Oaxaca & hopefully toward Guatemala - if we feel o.k. Atlisco, Puebla - San Juan Ixcuy, Guat. 2-24 June. We left Atlisco & continued on the inter- am. hwy (195?) drove through to the turnoff to Tehuantepec, where we spent the night. It's hot & dry through this land - el. ~ 300-900 ft., lots of Agave & cactus. On 195 into Tehuantepec, we hit some rain, & stopped by a roadside,
