5-21 June En Route to Guatemala: Berkeley to Atlixco, Puebla
So far the trip has been essentially a grind down here- driving about 18 hours/day, sleep the rest. The drive to El Paso, Texas was hot and otherwise uneventful- the Datsun performed like a champ. We had a small delay at the border, for we found that we had to have Paul's registration certified by a notary public. This entailed going back into El Paso, having our stuff checked, then checked again going into Mexico. We camped out all through the U.S. & as far south as Mexico City. Collecting was strictly what was on the road- a few D.O.R. snakes & 1 Phrynosoma was all. We arrived in Mexico City on Monday, the 20th of June Sunday, 19 June, & I started feeling rather bad. A plate of mole pollo finished it off, & I spent from 7pm Sunday till 8am Tuesday sleeping, heaving, & generally feeling awful. However, on Monday, Paul succeeded in getting the Liquido Nitrogeno & our permit- the latter at the address given us by Alice at the MU2. Both went smoothly- the permit cost 30 dollars, the nitrogen ~ 5 bucks. We figured to leave Mexico City Tuesday morning & go to Oaxaca via Rio Frio, where I wanted to look for some
