Journal 14-17 Sept. Tortogero, Prov. Limon. Durham took us up by boat which was neat- saw monkeys, a Guan, etc. & headed to San Jose. 18 Sept. Vicinity Puntarenas, Prov. Puntarenas, C.R. Doug Robinson told me about a good place for Bolitoglossa striatula, so we headed there. The locality is near the town of Barranca at the Los Robles railroad station. Take the Pan Am Hwy west to the Puntarenas turnoff, then in on the road to the railroad station- the striatula are supposedly on the reeds at night. xxxxxxx reeds El Roble R.R. Station Puntarenas <-- --> S. Jose. Barranca I looked on 2 different occasions & found nothing, but it was extremely dry in all of Puntarenas + Guanacaste Provinces. We did locate a small breeding pond for Hylids- I got 2 different species, & there was a ground Rnrid that I missed.
