Journal San Jose area - 10 Sept. There is a small green Centrolennid that lives all around town in San Jose, & I had errands to run today. So at night we went to the University to look for them. They are very small, & the call is a short chirp. To find them Louise & I worked low shrubs, banana plants, etc., especially near streams. A good way seems to be to work the sweet ginger plants near streams. We picked up 5 in about 2 hours, & went home. Town of Cahuita, Prov. Limon 11-13 Sept. We finally got out of San Jose & took the LACSA flight to Limon. From there, it's a short (~1 hr.) bus ride south to Cahuita, 40 km. S. of Limon. The area is all pretty cut over - chocolate fields predominate the landscape, with the normal coconuts on the beach. We stayed with a guy named George Humphreys (5 colones/night/person) & ate in town. We arrived fairly late, & so that the 11th went out at night. A very small Centrolennid was calling - both in the woods & down by the beach - really close to the water. We worked low shrubs, bananas, & sweet ginger, & got 4 in a couple
