3. Shyffer 1976. Journal 1 Feb. En Route to Las Vegas, Est. Pueblo & Veracruz, Mexico. at this area I got an all black snake (to iridescent red blotches on the venta) under a rock by the roadside. We now decided to move on to the town of Las Vegas. It is very, very cut over up here, but we found a nice patch of pine on the outskirts of town. We worked this area, but there is very little to work - all branches up to ~ 10 ft. are cut, all ground cover is taken - & only a layer of pine needles remains - a very clean forest. I finally found a log, & Tim & I got ~ 30 Therius out of it - mostly under bark. Also inside it Tim got 1 Boldteglasq - in a rotten hole. We continued working, & I found a few new pine logs - under these new Therius were found just under the log. It got dark, so we ate in the town tovely a great place) then camped by the roadside out side of town. 18 Feb. Las Vegas and en Route Mexico City. - Mexico. We decided to work one more locality, so chose an extensive block of pine forest 4 km. W. of Las Vegas, along Mex. Hwy. 140. This forest, as far as I could tell, is identical to that at the town, but there is more ground
