then worked the stream, more for turtles
that are reported to be in it - unfortunately
we saw none. Also, no adult frogs were seen

Vicinity Cuajimoloyas, Est. Oaxaca, Mexico.
14 Feb.
We headed out of Oaxaca City on Hwy 190 S.
and at Tlacolula headed north toward the
city of Diaz Ordaz. (175 x 180 -> Tlacolula tunnel
is 24.3 km. by road). Go 6 km. to city of
Diaz Ordaz, then go left on Calle de S de Mayo
in town. This is a dirt road that heads
off to the town of Cuajimoloyas. (~20 km.)

forest) are primarily coniferous with an occasional
small oak or madrope. Also, nettle & thistle
are on the ground, and an occasional huge
cagei plant is seen. Our 1st stop was 2 km.
W. of town - we worked a nice-looking slope for
a while, but found it completely dry, with only
