B.Staff 1976. Journal 12 Feb Cerro San Felipe, Est. Oaxaca, Mexico, a brush pile I got a large Thamnophis, i kept getting occasional smithii. We decided to back up a couple of km's i see [illegible] what we could get - we hit an area similar to the 15 km. locality, but it was steeper hill. The area -- was about the same, but definitely fewer smithii - I have no idea why. However, smithii + thamnophis were still common enough, & i'm got 2 more Bamixia. We worked this area, then called it a day. 13 Feb. Sola de Vega, Est. Oaxaca, Mexico, We decided to give the area around sola de Vega a try - go due souther way. 13! to the town of Sola de Vega, then another 19 km. to a power plant station. The area is oak pine & exceedingly dry. We worked a road bank that supposedly has a superabundance of Thamnophis in the wet season, but we got none. I worked a hillside intsrle of the house & got 1 Euneces, but that was it for us. We headed back to Sola de Vega, i worked the stream that goes through town for a bit. Picked up about 50 tadpoles in it to 2 skrapes scoops of a drag net, [illegible]
