actual peak. Three five, we or went over the
trp, looked for one more good spot to collect.
Unfortunately, it is very steep on the North facing
side of the mtn, so level spots are hard to
got. We worked a spot on the west side of
the road, just over the crest. A small stream
runs down the wthn. side & crosses under the
road and there are a couple of trails going up.
We worked the slope all the way up to the
summit - it is very steep, at times nearly
vertical. This area is primarily pine although there
are some deciduous oaks. Underbrush is thick
at spots, but generally passable off of the trail.
Jim got 3 animals working rocks on the
slope, & I got no Thorics at all. I did,
hovever, pick up a Sceloporus in a open

down I found a log - 4 ft long &
2 ft. in diameter, & got 5 Thorics under the
back of it. The log was near the stream, &
had thin bark that peeled easily. The log
did not appear rotten at all. I also turned
rocks near the stream, but got nothing.
This area was quite dry now, but is
probably wet in June + July. If worked then,
undoubtably the Thorics would be fairly
