B.Shafte last Journal Mexico: Oaxaca near Vista Hermosa. 8 Feb. The best for these Salamanders. We also found many other objects, but too no avail. We now moved on to another large bus stop to a trail leading west. This trail is really major - almost like a road, w many side branches - we were told it goes to a village. The earth is red mud here - might be good for night collecting. We walked around looting bromeliads - i got 9 more Chirops, again primarily in medium bromiliads- Jim also picked up 1 Theris in a bromiliad. I got 2 Thorius under logs- the 1st things seen on the ground in a long time. These were very rotten logs sitting close to a muddy pool - so the ground was saturated mud. No other Theris were seen. Jim also got 1 leptodactylid in a bromiliad. We now drove on another 5.5 km. i stopped by a large "chapel" on the roadside that are so common. It is in the midst of a clearing, & we started to turn objects. There was a large pile of old old roofing material, & in the middle of it I got an Exile boa placaty - coiled up. This pilt was exposed to the sun, & the sun was out. It is a greyish color, & is about ready to shed. we shall see if it turns black. The snake is
