Red-eyed Cowbird
2
May 30 - about 6" from his tail to the F - flapping
rapidly with puffed out neck and somewhat
feathers thusly:
Wings made a
rustling noise.
I believe he was looking directly at the F all the time.
I could see no change in her stand or behavior.
The tail of the OR was not fanned out to any
degree. He hovered above the F for 5 seconds -
"standing" in mid-air in the manner of a humming-
bird. He then descended at the side of the F
at once mounted and copulated for 3 seconds.
The F then flew to top of cage and made
several attempts to get around thru the wire, the
OR flew up to a perch.
