10 mi. NW Tlapantec , Oaxaca,
May 1 Hunted about 3/4 hr. along a dry streambed in
vegetation almost identical to that at our last stop
for humilis near Arriaga. The thin agave like plant
was common - also guenacoste x guanache,
the latter a dominant form. Heard one song but
unable to locate bird. My not finding was probably
due to time of day (3 P.M.) - see beyond,
