Selander, 1954 23 SE Tonala, Chis, Mexico March 25 (3) This heard once - a song "Cheek - o - we - wa , cheek - o - we - wa ' Usually song lasts for several seconds (3-4) and each theme is repeated several times. Singing & calling stopped after about 10:30 and after that time luins were extremely difficult to locate. (4) "que - qua" , "que - qua' - "que - qua' song? Noted Thryothorus pleurostictus foraging a few inches above ground in some area frequented by pair observed. Also noted a pair of T, pleurostictus in an open situation foraging on the branches of mid-sloven trees on SE end of the cut-over area. Later in the day I collected 4 Wrens in a group of small trees on the other side of the road from the area frequented by the pair observed earlier in the day. 3 birds were associated together in this small clump of trees. I walked around the cut-over area at about 10:15 without hearing more wrens. I hunted a few minutes on the hillside where there is a stand of rather low deciduous trees but saw no wrens or nest.
