Selander, 1954 22 SE Tonala', Chiapas, Mexico Novel 25 Calls are rather varied: 1 'cau', 'cau-dit', 'ca-ca-cau' (very fast) common 2 'qua-qua' very fast - may be same as 1 3 'qua-dot' (very fast - may be same or variation of 1 4 'ca-dot-cat-dot' - very fast; may be same or variation of 1 - this type note given while foraging. Songs: 1 one bird sang "who-weet, who-weet" etc while another gave a querulous 'qua series. This may be variation or some of song described on previous page by a pair. In this case also 2 birds were perched close together with tails fanned out. 2 "'Pico-wa, pico-wa, 'pico-wa" - lone bird. or 'Pico-what, 'pico-what, 'pico-what' or 'Pico-weet, pico-weet - lone bird gave this fast. or 'what-do-it, weet-do-it, weat-do-it" given by a pair in perfect unison. Birds may have been a bit disturbed. or "Tweek-o-wee, tweek-o-wee" - - _ - _ - or "cha-'que-co, cha-'que-co"
