Texila Gutierrez, 1800ft., Chiapas, Mexico
Oct. 6 that the rain has washed out several railroad
bridges between Tonala and Tapochula so
they were forced to come up to Texila to wait.
They expect to go back to Arriaga in a few days
and see how repair on the bridges is coming.
Doctor Faucett is after aquatic plants. He says that
there is a dirt road between Arriaga and Tonala-
but that it is probably in bad shape because of
the rain. At present no trains are running on the
Tonala - Tapochula line. He reports that the
mativos at Tonala were friendly. They will wait
either at Arriaga or Texila until the train is
running again. Tomorrow we are going up
the road to the north to see the gorge of Semidlers.
Had planned to go with Bonifacio to Villa Allende
to look the place over but will wait a day for
that.
The sky is semi-clear tonight. Perhaps the storm
is breaking up.
Alvory is sounding more and more like he doesn't
expect to go up to Villa Almede. He says he
has an appointment with governor tomorrow.
He sure in vague about going hunting. The
man at Villa Allende has a ranch somewhere
up near Santa Rita. Alvory feels it would
die best to stay at the ranch rather the at Villa
Allende.
