70 June 6 near Tzitzio a good list. Never saw birds foraging toward twig outer branches, as does himilis. Both - almost all foraging is done along branches & fair size, especially near-horizontal ones. Flight is rapid & direct & flights are long. The birds are wary & alert & it is necessary to use 16 gauge shells to get them; they tend to move through trees rapidly when approached & none of the birds seemed confined to definite areas. Flight, average perhaps 30-40 yds but I saw flights of 75 yds or 70-, always the bird remains low when flying - not unlike jozurus. In general appearance & behavior gulorio is similar to jozurus - but seems much less noisy? vorforans. At 5:00 P.M. we heard a short "th-heart" note which I at first thought was that of Chordeiles minor. Several large swifts were flying low (40-50 feet) above the grand v coming from the NW (where there are a series of cliffs). One passed low over the road & I got it with a long shot with a high-power 6-shot. It is a San Jeronimo Swift - hitherto recorded only once Izntla Antecery, Chiapas, & in the mountains at Matanal. I should judge that there were at least 5 present, possibly, 8 or 10. They flew around camps for about 1/2 minute but I couldn't get another shot. Then they flew SE. Two other spp. of swifts were flying in same area at same time - one a medium to small
