40 12 mi. SSW Boca del Rio - Papaloapan, Veracruz May 21 twice over the same spot. These birds worked back and forth over a limited area. Collected one or two of which were only partially enlarged. Saw one other. E.minor near the bridge over the Rio Blanco near La Tenaja. May 22 Hunted across road from camp 12 mi. SSW Boca del Rio in the morning. Collected 2 yellow-green suires in addition to cactus wrens. Lamb took 2 Tyrannus tyrannus, an Anatinga aetes, and both types of Psilorhinus. I collected one Urupila leucogaster which was foraging several feet above the ground in a dense clump of bushes. Cosamaloapan In the afternoon Bonnie and I drove to Papaloapan (Hotel Casino) and stayed the night in a new hotel there (25 pesos). May 23 Drove from hotel to point 3 mi. SW Papalo Cosamaloapa and hunted 45 minutes in a stand of short trees & bushes. This was one of largest stands (or one of few) seen along the road. It was similar to vegetation near Boca del Rio but more of the plants are evergreen and there is a rich carpet of grass & herbs beneath. The entire stand was only 1/2 block or so in area. No cactus wrens. Saw Collected 2 Synallaxis - both or both of which were infected with sarcoptes. [Birds infected this trip are - 1 humile, 2 chionensis, 1 nigricaudatus, and one refiunsha, + one Saltator coerulescens (?).] Noted anis, sonic flycatcher in the vegetation. Weather drove along SW where the road is lined with mango trees & fields of sugar cane and bananas. 15 mi. SW there is +/- 1 sq. mile of
