Oct. 28 Main alula feather of left wing is old, that of right is
unsheathed and short.
Iri lighter, less red than # 164). Bill & legs
9 feet similar.
Specimen 1642: Tail & coverts as in 1641. Dorsum
behind 1641, head behind also, Entire underparts
unsheathed. Right wing: Primaries: 10-8 old, 7
short - also its greater upper covert, 6 unsheathed a upper
covert new, 5 unsheathed a little, other new.
First row under primary coverts old but 2 unsheathed
with old one between, 2 row all unsheathed with
nine ones longest. Secondaries: 1 full new, 2-3
unsheathed, 4-6 old, 7 short, 8-9 new, several
inner grad. sec. coverts unsheathed, under sec.
coverts old, leading edge unsheathed, inner ones
being longest. Alula old, its coverts unsheathed.
Left wing: Primaries: 10-8 & upper coverts old, # 7
# covert (upper) unsheathed, 6-# unsheathed with
full new upper coverts, rest complete new. Secondaries
new:
152 unsheathed, 3 unsheathed, 4-6 old, 7 short
8-9 full. Under primary coverts similar to
right wing but first inner few of first row unsheathed
Alula short, unsheathed.

unsymmetrical
but think -
northern as in
true juveniles.
I think these
specimens
are adult.
The clear areas
are not as clear
as they are in
juvenile birds.
