K. Selanda, Caloitta formosa near Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico Oct. 2-3 Have taken both adults and juveniles. Both have a little fat along the feather tracts. One in last stage of fall molt. Adults with last few primaries (outer ones) ensheathed as with ensheathed feathers at ends of some feather tracts. Generally good plumage, however. Teste of adult males running about 4 mm long (or less). Ovaries of adult males are very small, with one minute. The iris of adults is a dull brown - but the entire eyeball has a bluish cast so as to almost obscure the brown. Iris of juveniles is brown with a bluish edge on the outside blue - again whole eyeball has blue cast. Ovaries of juveniles very small with one not visible. "Palm" of all birds is yellow or yellow-orange. Feet and legs black; bill black. Juveniles have skull ossified except for 2 patches (about 10 x 6 mm) on top of skull just behind orbit. Great weight variation noted. Oct. 6 Ran onto a flock of 10 or more in an "orchard-like" patch of trees in the deciduous forest 3 mi. N/NE Tuxtla, 1900 ft. Both adults and young present. In addition to these two sounds, they make a variety of other noises, most of them
