West of the Monte de la Pluma there is a truncated topped hill which the guide called "Monte del Marimba".
Took several photos of Monte de la Pluma but fog hid the summit.
At Santa Rita I learned that Bonifacio had been un-
able to find ice in San Fernando as I had instructed (for yesterday's guide). Since I now had 18 specimens, including 6 Calounta and 2 Xanthoura I decided to return to Tuxtla rather than spend another night at Santa Rita. I was satisfied that the new joy was not in the "rain" forest and that we could not climb the Monte at this time. At 4:00 we started back toward San Fernando. Shot 2 more Calounta from flock of 4 on north edge of town. - They must be very common around San Fernando.

Paid 30 pesos for 2 horses for 3 days Paid guide 20 pesos. Have Bonifacio 8 + 2 for telephone to Tuxtla for a taxi. Took a few shots (color) around San Fernando (Rubens family) and then returned to Tuxtla - was charged 35 pesos by the taxi driver for the trip. This is 10 over the usual charge !!
Up until 12:00 Skiing out 19 specimens. Just skinning - not stuffing, labels etc.
Extremely tired when I finally hit the sack,
