Oct. 19 of the Monte de la Pluma from Santa Rita did not give me any impression of the thing being either very high or massive. However I have never seen the top because of the fog which seems to continually hang over the area - at least in this season. Have many photos of the Monte but all will show much fog, As far up as I could see from Santa Rita there is nothing but the thick evergreen forest. Perhaps the mountain is more massive farther to the north beyond the particular peak which is visible from Santa Rita - but I think not.
(Always told me that Miranda knows of a still larger & higher monte near Quiechula. As far as Miranda could see it is covered with the same rain forest occurring at lower elevations. It is called "Monte Solo de Dios" and you can guess from the name that the people around there think it is impossible to climb.)
