Santa Rita, Chisipas, Mexico
Oct. 10 (on dry slopes in grass & holes), groove-billed ani, white-billed blackbird, Tityra semifasciata,
Diporhynchus flavigaster, Saltator atricaps, Xanthaura yuccas, Caistartes aura, Cylarhis gujanensis, Campylorhynchus zonatus, Thysthous pleurostictus, parrots (sp?) - small, possibly Aratinga [illegible], marsh hawk (I saw over corn field near camp), Motmotus motmeta, Centurus sp., Phloeocaster guatemalensis (specimen),
[illegible] althoffense, Piaya cayana Turdus sp., large cacique (in flocks). Birds active and take late.) calling only in early morning a two hours before sunset (which is about 6 P.M.).
Hunted for 2-1/2 hours in late afternoon. No jays heard or seen.
Oct. 11 Hunted all day with Sr. Helfego, below (west) camp. Skinned birds by Coleman lamp.

Oct. 12 By horse to [illegible] 5 mi. N Santa Rita to a place called Santa Cruz, about 1 mi. from the Colonia. Hunted around Santa Cruz, returning to camp at 6:30. Noted a caprimulgid on path just after sunset - a large bird. Unable to collect it because of darkness.
