R.K.Selander, 1952 Atlapetes nitenspes August 14 15 mi. N Cuernavaca, 8900ft., Morelos, Mexico.-Fairly common here, frequenting same places as Pipilo erythrophthalmus (see account that species). Obtained two specimens, one an immature. No singing heard. No notes recorded. Very inquisitive, easy to sneak up. August 15 Species has habit of fluffing up the plumage, giving a rather curious appearance because of its pure white throat.-Looks short-necked. No note heard.
