R.K.Selander, 1952 Basileuterus culicivorus August 7 2 mi. S Coatipec, 3700ft., Veracruz, Mexico.-A pair loosters today foraging in a thicket of coffee bushes. Behavior is very worm-like. They were easily squeaked up into view. I collected one (shot it) and the other perched about a foot above the dead brush and eyed it for several seconds. The notes are noisy and varied - a clicking sound. Birds stay well down near the ground at all times.
