Dendrocopos stricklandi
sealarum
15 mi. N Cuernavaca, 800 ft., Morelos, Mexico.
Shot a juvenile clinging to trunk of small tree
about 10 feet above ground. Bird alerted at
sound of my approach; raised its head back -
no note given. Another bird of this species may
have been with the juvenile, as several birds
flew from the tree when I fired. - This is only
encounter with species during stay at this camp.
