R.K.Selander, 1952 Diehromanasa rufescens × OK. August 22 Piede la Cuesta, 20ft., Guerrero, Mexico. - one heron (probably this species) working in shallow pond near the highway by the laguna. Noted light basal portion of bill with dark tip. Some reddish cast to plumage. Bird long necked, thin billed. Not wary - but proximity of cars prevented my taking a shot. August 24 Same bird in same location as mentioned above. Apparently the same species if not the same individual. Will attempt to secure a specimen for positive identifi- cation. August 27 Specimen taken in marshy area (i.e. grass, standing water). Identified as this species. Made up as skeleton.
