R.K. Selander, 1952 Anhinga anhinga August 24 Pie de la Cuesta, 20ft., Guerrero, Mexico. - one bird perched on mangrove tree at edge of laguna. I approached to within 30 yds. in a boat and shot at it, but failed to injure it (had only half loads with me at the time). It took off and circled out over the laguna and dock. Took another shot at it but no luck. The bird finally flew to the east several hundred yds. and perched again in the top of a mangrove. - later in the day (± 12:00) I noted a bird of the species flying along the edge of the laguna near the spot where I encountered the one in the morning. - May have been some individual.
