Aug. 31 Cuernavaca Highway, 8700 ft., near La Cima, Distrito Federal, Mexico.
and 2 Pezadrornus olivaceus; also took an Oritrurus (not saved).
Noted a hawk which I believe was Circus cyaneus flying over the brush-grass. Manner of flight certainly that of a harrier. Also got good look at white rump-patch.
We then continued on to Mexico City, arriving at 8:30 P.M. Stayed at the Palacio Hotel.
Sept. 1 Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico.
Embassy closed today; so will have to wait until tomorrow to pick up mail.
Sept. 2 One check (August) at Embassy. Had truck greased, window repaired, and wheels aligned,
Sept. 3 September check at Embassy. Wrote letters one then left Mexico City at 1:30 P.M. Drove directly to Chester Lamb's at Irapuato, Guanajuato, arriving there at 10:00 P.M. Stayed at Lamb's for the night.
Sept. 4 (Irapuato) Gave lamb 200 additional empty 38 shells (making total of 330). He gave me 2 Calomella as gift to Dr. Miller. Also, lamb is sending 3 boxes of birds (~500 skins) over the border with one. These are to be sent parcel-post to the Moore Lab. Ornithology, Los Angeles. Picked up Dr. Miller's shotgun which I will return to the museum. Lamb collected 2 (adult + juvenile) C. jocosus at Madamores in the latter part of August.
