Noted a single Megaceryle torquata and several white-winged doves . Also saw 3 milletes flying swiftly along the crest of the breaker [illegible] along the beach. No nighthawks seen, although we were out until dusk. Following is a complete list of species ob- served during our stay at Pie de la Cuesta, aug. 21 - aug. 28 ; including those seen at "Montesa" Island in the Laguna . My hunting was con- fined exclusively to the lowlands , with no visit to the foothill vegetation (i.e. the "monte"). Grebe sp.
