"Monteosa Island", sea level - 30 ft., Laguna Coyuca,
Herrero, Mexico.
Noted the following animals in one hours hunt:
Pelecanus occidentalis - 2 about the shore of the island -
Many others in the laguna between Pie de la Cuesta
and the island. Finding singly.
(Phalacrocorax olivaceus - about 5 seen in laguna)
Cosmerodius allens - one in marshy, at western
area of island.
Coragyps atratus - 2 perched in tree on hill - Very
reluctant to fly.
Jacana spinosa - 2
Actitis macularia - 10-15 along beach, on rocks.
Specimen obtained (not prepared, however).
Chlidonias niger(?) - Common in laguna and about
the shore of the island. One taken.
Scardafella inca - rather numerous.
Pigeon sp. - 3 seen. Pointed tails - small,
Crotophaga subcirosstrei - common.
Chloroceryle americana - 1
Myiarchus sp - rather common.
Pitangus sulphuratus - Common.
Stelgidofatergx sp. - No recorded hooklets on primaries.
May be S. ruficollis, or could be S. ridgwayi.
I don't know the range nor characters of the latter.
Common in large flock - also separately. Appeared to
be resident. One specimen taken.
