Pie de la Cuesta, 20th, Guerrero, Mexico
August 24 saw an Andinga flying along the edge of the laguna;
may well have been some individual. Also noted a
Trageta magnificens flying eastward high over the laguna.
White breast ptila vivida = ♀?. Noted many Butoides
smintheus in mangroves. Also a blue heron the size
color
of a black-crowned night-heron - Several seen in
mangroves. Brown pelican (one) on laguna. Coragyps
atricatus common. Jacana spinosa in groups of
2-4 birds in marshy areas look from the laguna.
Three Casmerodius albus in mangroves. Also a
small egret - all white - with them - looks like
E. thula. One Dichromomera rufescens roosting
in pond near highway in same place as which I
noted one August 22. There are several species of
doves/pigeons here - one small and another about
size of C. livia. All very wild and difficult to
stalk. Noted one Chloroceryle americana. In addition
to the above, the following species were noted today:
Crotaphaga sulcirostris, Centurus sp., Cissolopha
san - blasiana (one shot), Campylorhynchus humilis
(9 specimens obtained), Cariidix mexicanus, Agelaius
phoeniceus (several seen), one ♂ ad. obtained),

similis (a pair seen), Emjufodonax sp.?, Xiphorhynchus
flavigaster (2 seen), Feterus (gularis?), Cassicus
