R.K. Selander, 1952 49 Pie de la Cuesta, 20th, Guerrero, Mexico August 24 saw an Andinga flying along the edge of the laguna; may well have been some individual. Also noted a Trageta magnificens flying eastward high over the laguna. White breast ptila vivida = ♀?. Noted many Butoides smintheus in mangroves. Also a blue heron the size color of a black-crowned night-heron - Several seen in mangroves. Brown pelican (one) on laguna. Coragyps atricatus common. Jacana spinosa in groups of 2-4 birds in marshy areas look from the laguna. Three Casmerodius albus in mangroves. Also a small egret - all white - with them - looks like E. thula. One Dichromomera rufescens roosting in pond near highway in same place as which I noted one August 22. There are several species of doves/pigeons here - one small and another about size of C. livia. All very wild and difficult to stalk. Noted one Chloroceryle americana. In addition to the above, the following species were noted today: Crotaphaga sulcirostris, Centurus sp., Cissolopha san - blasiana (one shot), Campylorhynchus humilis (9 specimens obtained), Cariidix mexicanus, Agelaius phoeniceus (several seen), one ♂ ad. obtained), Turdus sp., Pitangus sulphuratus, Myiozetetes similis (a pair seen), Emjufodonax sp.?, Xiphorhynchus flavigaster (2 seen), Feterus (gularis?), Cassicus melanisternus (a pair obtained - This species is one of my large vislas mentioned on page 48).
