Serb, R. 1985 La Paz to Isla Guazante Baja California Sur, Mexico 12 May Carmen pass canyon bay trail Dazante nothing for 30 minutes. Then back at the beach I saw tracks in the sand among some boulders. I followed one set of tracks to a huge night snake (not certain of genus). Later I met up with Davis, who had a Hypsigleny. It's smaller and darker than mine. Walked up and found some tuberculate Phyllodotyus in a too rocky too dangerous area and left. Slept under beautiful stars. Not too buggy. Isla Dazante to Nopalo, Baja California Sur, Mexico 13 May In the morning we hiked around and caught a few Uta and Gorgaurus. I watched a Cnemidophorus trigis forage. Eating almost constantly for 30 min. Bootman came at 1000 and left. He introduced me to his friend, Antonio, who has a new 48 hp motor. Antonio will take us to Isla Catalang tomorrow morning at 700 for 20,000 pesos. We drove north to Nopalo, a new resort area, and checked in the El Presidente. It's fairly extravagant, but nice after camping. At dark we night drove south into the mountains
