7 May A thick layer of clouds covered the Cape Region all day and into the night. The temperature was perfect. We worked all day and drove south to the night-driving road to get a good early start. However, snakes were not really active for some reason. I guess it's just early in the year; or, maybe they prefer a hot, sunny day prior to a good night of foraging and repulating.
In any case, we just picked up a Trimorphodon baby, and a DOR leptotyphlos and C. stramineos, as well as a smashed Ripes. Drove 168 miles.

Drove down to Boncho Barua and talked with old friend there, including Alcedo whose hair is now graying. Ate dinner for 10 dollars each. It was Wednesday: Mexican night. Drove north, seeing a Hypsiglena and P. cactus
