29 Oct. for Bolitoglossa flaviventris. We had incredible luck getting five live and 1 DOR, all babies. We found them only in grassy stretches along the road. It had stopped raining by [illegible] 19:00 when we arrived, but the road remained wet until 21:30. Also picked up 2 DOR Imantodes. Got back late, feeling worn out, and slept.
30 Oct. Woke up, had breakfast, then some pool action. Changed 300 dollars, our 800 pesos on the dollar now, as opposed to 197 four weeks ago. We stopped at the Quinta Carmelita restaurant for lunch on the way out to San Jeronimo, but we were not destined to reach the finca today. We entered the restaurant in bright sunshine and sat down. 15 min later it began pouring and just didn't stop for about 3 1/2 hours. All traffic on the main drag outside the restaurant was stopped almost until dark. When the out-of-town lane cleared, we left the restaurant, which had flooded 2 hours previously, and decided to drive out to the Nueva Alemania road to see if B. flaviventris come out prior to dark in a heavy rain. They didn't. We drove for an hour before dark seeing
