27 Oct Set the alarm for six and got there and ate; the airport moved and she almost
missed her flight; last person to board the
plane. Got a shoeshine in the town square
and ended up coming back to the hotel
to sleep. After an hour I was fast asleep
when the phone woke me up. It was
Tiki at the Mexico City airport. She was
taking back some salamanders with my
permit and the airline decided she
needed a U.S. Import permit. This is
blatantly untrue since U.S. officials
only require that the government of Mexico
give me permission to collect. Anyway,
she said she'd call back tonight and
let me know what happened. At San
Tevemo, there were only a few sutores
and 4 Dermophis. We settled at a
new spot site which I disliked, caught 5
Corollia and left. Tiki was supposed to
have phoned tonight but never did.
28 Oct Woke up about 9:00, having slept 12 hours, the
first decent rest in a week. Maybe I won't
nod off at the wheel today. Tiki still hasn't
phoned and I'm quite worried about her, but
there's not much I can do until she calls
me. I don't even know if she's out of
