Seib, R. 1484 Acapulco to Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico 13 Oct of Puerto Escondido. Stayed at a hotel N of the city. Allison started to get sick today, her birthday. Tehuantepec to Berto Juarez Segundo, Veracruz, Mexico 14 Oct We drove North past Matias Romero and took a road ENE for 44 miles. There is a sign on the highway which says the road goes to Uxpanapa. Three hours later we arrived at Bento Juarez Segundo (unmortel) and found one Don Jorge who is the superviso of the poblado. We came looting for limestone, interested to see it Bolitoglossa veracrucis dwells here. There are limestone caves and a cenote here. Unfortunately, it has not rained for 3 weeks and the limestone was dry. I looked by day and by night with lantern, but found no salamanders. Animals seen included a Micrurus nigrocinctus climbing about 1 m up in a cave; Syrophus sp., Aeolis sp. and Xenosaurus sp. [illegible]
