Seib, R. 1984 G. Negro to La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico 3 Oct The way to Santa Rosalia. At the gas station, they told me it had rained two hours the previous night. It was remarkably green everywhere from Punta Prieta in Baja Norte all the way to La Paz. In fact it was so green that it doesn't even seem like a desert. There were huge pools of water along the road in countless places between Santa Rosalia and La Paz. We found unleaded gas nowhere between Santa Rosalia and Ciudad Constitucion. It became dark 40 km north of La Paz, so we started night driving at that point. Caught a live Crotalus ruber 11 km north of La Paz and were hoping for quite a good night. However we were extremely disappointed to find not a single animal in 100 miles of night driving from La Paz to the rocky area south of San Antonio and back. Got a room at the Presidente Sur. Its a nice hotel in a nice setting with a nice pool and semi-private beach. However, the rooms are already getting run down. With the airconditioner on high I perspire while lying on top of the bed in only my shorts.
