12 May La Paz to Mira Flores, and return, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
The rest is yellow and orange. Picked up numerous PR's and a live Sonora
cosure in the rocks above El Triunfo.
Arrived fa by late and slept.
La Paz to north of Mulege, Baja California Sur, Mexico
13 May Wake and preserved the animals. It's a bit
less windy today. Tonight would probably
be a good time to drive for snakes around
San Antonio, but we're heading north.
As of now, our plan is to leave at
16:00 and arrive before day death. I want
to drive the rocky area from Loreto to
Mulege for snakes. Of course, if it's
warm and snakes are out, I'll drive
to San Ignacio. But it will probably
be too cold. We'll just enjoy the
pool and beach for 3 hours before heading
north. By 14:30 a high cloud cover was
building up over this part of the peninsula.
It is coming from the west, although it
appears from this end of the bay as though
it is coming across the gulf. In my exper-
iences in the desert, such a cloud cover
can maintain a constant warm tempera-
ture and increase the relative humidity,
making it excellent for snakes at night.
It's really too bad we can't drive
