Seib R. 1983. 12 May La Paz to Mira Flores, and return, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The rest is yellow and orange. Picked up numerous PR's and a live Sonora cosure in the rocks above El Triunfo. Arrived fa by late and slept. La Paz to north of Mulege, Baja California Sur, Mexico 13 May Wake and preserved the animals. It's a bit less windy today. Tonight would probably be a good time to drive for snakes around San Antonio, but we're heading north. As of now, our plan is to leave at 16:00 and arrive before day death. I want to drive the rocky area from Loreto to Mulege for snakes. Of course, if it's warm and snakes are out, I'll drive to San Ignacio. But it will probably be too cold. We'll just enjoy the pool and beach for 3 hours before heading north. By 14:30 a high cloud cover was building up over this part of the peninsula. It is coming from the west, although it appears from this end of the bay as though it is coming across the gulf. In my exper- iences in the desert, such a cloud cover can maintain a constant warm tempera- ture and increase the relative humidity, making it excellent for snakes at night.
