Seib, A. 1983 La Paz, Baja California Sur, México 10 May it certainly one of the rarest snakes I have caught on the Baja mainland. I caught one luntern-walking and one night-driving at the canyon 7 km W of Bahía de los Angeles. I find them to be rather common on islands in the gulf. I can think of no other snake so widely distributed in Baja that I have encountered so rarely. After another hour of driving, we found only a DOR Hypsiglena and a smashed Crotalus ruber south of La Paz. La Paz to Mira Flores, and return, Baja California Sur, México 11 May Woke early and preserved the snakes. Spent the morning snorkeling and getting sunburned. Drove south at 15:00. Picked up another DOR Masticophis south of La Paz. Drove all the way to Mira Flores in the heat of the day. Upon arriving I tried to find the road to the cen (Presa) and lagartos. I took every conceivable bad dirt road except the correct one. The right road takes off just north of the main populated area and progresses into the hills. [illegible] mountains paved 2 km Max Hury 1
