Seib, R. 1983 6 May San Felipe to Cataviña Baja California Norte, Mexico Woke up early and picked the animal from yesterday. Drove north out of town and immediately found a ? DOB (combella) in full orange breeding colors. It was warm, though windily. I think tonight would have been a great night to road-drive around San Felipe as it was much warmer than yesterday. On the way to Ensenada, saw a live Salvadora, Lituophis and Martinophis flagellum, all of which escaped my capture. Picked up several DOB's including a fresh, beautiful Rhinocelalus north of San Quintin (I got one south of Cataviña several years ago). Night-drove from El Rosario to Cataviña without seeing anything but smashed daytime DOB's. Must have seen 50-75 dead Salvadora, Lituophis and Martinophis today. We made camp near the creek just south of the 'El Presidente Hotel', now called "La Pinta." (Cataviña to Bahía de los Angeles, Baja California Norte, Mexico) 7 May Woke early.
