Seib, R. 1982 Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico 25 Aug the animals until 20:00. Then we went to the restaurant by the pool and I dictated my journal for the last two days to Ally. Tapachula to Berkeley, California 26 Aug Woke up and sadly prepared to leave Mexico. I have enjoyed Allison's company in the remote areas we visited. She is among the best field assistants I have had the good fortune to know. I'm sad to leave the tropical insect and bird sounds, the warm, moist air, the afternoon rains, and the absence daily pressures. We leave Tapachula at 13:20 and have a long, tired wait in Mexico City. I don't sleep on the plane, although all the other passengers sleep on their way to San Francisco. Ted Papentuss is smiling when he picks us up after uneventful customs. It's entirely different here.
