Seib, R. 1982 Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico 18 Aug Tantilla I discovered in the San Jeronimo area. The snake is bright, deep orange/red below, dark brown above, with a narrow light neck ring and light facial markings. We drove back to the hotel, showered, ate dinner, and then catalogued, weighed, measured, and preserved all the snakes. Today's total was 95 snakes. Afterwards, we just went to sleep and woke up 10 hr. later. 19 Aug Wrote 9:30, sneaked the animals and "equipo" back into the car, and went to breakfast. Afterwards, took a long swim at the pool. Allison took the long swim; I took the short swim. I had to go to Aero Mexico, to the bank again, and to the laundry place to get the clothes. We drove out to the Ancas, arriving about 13:15. I was surprised that they already had 15 snakes waiting. Stayed only until 13:30 and left for Monte Pella. Arrived just before it rained and managed to buy the snakes during the rain. There were only 29. We drove to the pickling rock and finished all the animals by 17:10. Went back to San Jeronimo and found that they only collected 13 snakes because it rained
