Seib, A. 1982 8 Aug Berkeley, to Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico one peso/liter: 373 pesos for a tank of NOVA! The sky looked a little bit ominous so we drove out the Nueva Alemania road. We began seeing cerco canaliforas prior to the first drops of rain. When we hit the rain, we also saw Bana maculata, Hylidae, Dermophis mexicanus, Himic sebae (1), and we heard Syrophis calling from trees. We collected 2 live cecilians and saw a DOB. Returned late to Tapachula and had dinner and beer. 9 Aug Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico Woke up late, ate breakfast, unpacked equipment and prepared to go into town to buy ice, borosone, drinks and string for experimenting with large, ropeel-guadrats. We spent from 12:00 to 13:00 in town. The battery to the car also became disconnected, so we got that fixed. We then drove out to San Leonimo and talked with the people about my plans to collect snakes on guadrats. They actually seemed enthusiastic about the idea and!
