Berkeley, to Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico
one peso/liter: 373 pesos for a tank of
NOVA! The sky looked a little bit
ominous so we drove out the Nueva
Alemania road. We began seeing
cerco canaliforas prior to the first
drops of rain. When we hit the rain,
we also saw Bana maculata, Hylidae,
Dermophis mexicanus, Himic sebae (1),
and we heard Syrophis calling
from trees. We collected 2 live
cecilians and saw a DOB. Returned
late to Tapachula and had dinner
and beer.
9 Aug
Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico
Woke up late, ate breakfast, unpacked
equipment and prepared to go
into town to buy ice, borosone,
drinks and string for experimenting
with large, ropeel-guadrats.
We spent from 12:00 to 13:00 in town.
The battery to the car also became
disconnected, so we got that fixed.
We then drove out to San Leonimo
and talked with the people about
my plans to collect snakes on
guadrats. They actually seemed
enthusiastic about the idea and!
