Seib, R. 1981 19 Sept. Berkeley to Corral Hollow, San Joaquin Co., and return still found several more Pituophis, either asleep or deth. I collected 11 Pituophis and found a 12th smashed. All 14 snakes were young - no adult snakes were seen. Returned to Berkeley by 23:40 and killed, tagged, weighed, measured and fixed all the snakes and a single adult Burt's boraas. Night drove a total of 89.3 mi. 20 Sept. Berkeley to Corral Hollow, San Joaquin Co., and return Left Berkeley 18:00. Hot clear day. Although warmer than yesterday in Berkeley, it was windy at Corral Hollow and thus cooler than last night. At dark it did not become humid as it did last night. Last night I saw only a Taxidea, while tonight I saw four Procyon and one Odocoileus. Found 3 OR Pituophis late afternoon before arriving I-580. Got out of car ~ 1 mi. before I-580 and hopped a fence N of the rd. under a power line system. Dry creek + willows + over 100 logs. Also rock piles. Turned about 50-60 logs - no vertebrates. Drove until 22:00 seeing nothing past 20:55. We saw only Pituophis early and later picked up 5 Crotalus, all well west of I- 580. Last four snakes were Crotalus and
