Seib, M. 1981 Berkeley to Contra Costula and return 24 July occasional side road for a brief period. I saw an Sceloporus occidentalis among the herps. Zero snakes. Toward's dusk it became chilly and I ceased road-hunting. Berkeley to Stanislaus Co., and return. 1 Aug The fog broke in Berkeley at 14:00 today and it became clear. I drove to Fivemore, leaving Berkeley 15:45. I road hunted Mines road all the way to Del Beesto Canyon Rd (Hatason Pass Rd) at I-5. I drove back and forth through the canyon several times and then back along the mines road to Tesla. It was warm in the afternoon - both windows rolled down, me in shirt sleeves - but cold down rapidly at dusk, very little bridge. The only serpent was a DOB Liuphis 17.3 miles South of Tesla Rd on the Mines road. It was cold and limp when I found and had probably been hit around dusk. See log next page:
