Seib, R. 1980 Chilcoat to Berkeley, Alameda Co. California 5 Oct Worked early and quickly checked traps with files. The 19 remaining Sherman traps contained 3 Dipodmys 5 Perognathus perves, 2 Peromyscus maniculates. The snap traps had 4 P. parvus and 2 Microdipodops megacephalus, all dead. Two of the former had crushed shells and were tossed. 4 Perognathus and 1 Peromyscus were released. We drove immediately back to Tajima, put up some shimeke and left for Berkeley ca. 13:30, arriving 16:00. Berkeley to Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co. California 22 Nov Left Berkeley ca. 10:20 with Dave Darola and Benel and headed south on Ca. Hwy 17 for our second class field trip. Picked up 4-5 Hwy 100 at San Jose and proceeded to Salinas where we exited west at "Monterey Peninsula". Followed ca. 2 mi to Ca. Hwy 68, turned left for 10 mi, then turned left on Laureles Grade Rd. 7 mi, turning left on Carmel Valley Road ca. 15 mi to the dirt road which is marked by a sign: "Hastings Reservation".
