Holmes,R. 1963 C. pusillus 7. 4 July Barrow, Alaska Brood 13 found by Bohnsack in drum-area at 1030. When went out at 11 - They could not be found - but the adults were acting up- so they were in the area. - 1 dead chick was found at a pond-edge. In the evening - after we had received 2" snow - found 2 Acs + 4 chicks a hundred behind Bldg 256 - The chicks were being brooded by an / the adults. Brood were feeding at pond margin - the def mounds - but food sets were definitely limited. 5 July Mule Sam Wood (4) - In am - in same area as last trip - proton same group. Semipal nest on B.R. census plank - with me brood - under 3" snow - it popped off the nest when I approached. - egg were worn. Several seen in Britton's Area + 3 collected. Also, a family group 1 2 Acs + 1 just-hatched chicks were taken from Ool area - group - We display today. see, obstruction-types. 7 July 3 nests located by Dick Moran (George Washburn Univ - Anthropology) - in drum area - well Corto.
